Hi, I’m Kamila Etcheverry, LMHC~

I help individuals and families of all ages navigate some of life’s greatest challenges: anxiety, grief, childhood difficulties, and the changes that occur through adulting. Where do you find yourself today? Does anxiety or panic interfere with your life? Have you been struggling to help your child in the ways that best suit their needs? Are you going through changes that feel difficult to adjust to – college, grief, the end of a major relationship? If any of these feel familiar to you, you don’t have to go through it on your own.

Finding a therapist can feel difficult and confusing. As someone who has experienced debilitating anxiety and grief myself, I know how challenging it can be to find yourself feeling as though nobody understands. There is no right or wrong way to experience anxiety, loss, and the many life transitions that impact us through our childhood and young adulthood. This is a sentiment I hold closely to me when working with individuals and families.

I graduated from Florida International University with a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Prior to my time at Seasons, I worked extensively with families and their children admitted into treatment programs for behavioral and emotional difficulties. I have almost 3 years of experience at an anxiety and phobia treatment program at Florida International University for children and adolescents suffering from social anxiety, phobias, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), and panic disorder. I then spent 3 more years providing behavioral treatment to children with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), conduct disorder, oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Most recently, I provided therapy to adults in transitional housing experiencing anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), addiction, childhood trauma, and psychotic disorders.

In my work, I like to tune into the unique set of needs and desires that we each have before applying a specific approach to therapy with you. I do often draw from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) when helping clients reach their therapeutic goals. In the treatment of anxiety specifically, exposure and response prevention (ERP) is one of the most effective, evidence-based approaches that I apply. Together, we will identify the events and triggers that have led you to where you are today and work on the patterns and emotions that may be keeping you there. To me, you already possess all the strengths and potential to find the balance you are seeking in life. I am simply here to walk through that journey with you.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with loved ones, spending vacations in the Pacific Northwest, playing board games with friends, reading, and doing different arts and crafts activities.
