A Season for Healing Starts Here

Do you feel overwhelmed by anxiety, sadness, or stress more days than not? Are you navigating a major life change, grieving a loss, or struggling to understand recurring patterns in your life? At Seasons Psychotherapy Associates, we believe that meaningful change is possible—and individual therapy is often the first step toward that transformation.

Whether you’re seeking support for a specific issue or exploring personal growth more broadly, our therapists are here to help you gain clarity, build emotional resilience, and move forward with purpose.

Helping Your Child Build a Strong Foundation for Growth

At Seasons Psychotherapy Associates, we know that childhood can bring incredible joy—and also big challenges. Whether it’s behavioral concerns, anxiety, sadness, social struggles, or major life transitions, children sometimes need extra support to navigate their emotions.

Our experienced team creates safe, developmentally appropriate spaces where children can heal, grow, and thrive. If you’re considering therapy for your child, you’re taking an important first step in helping them build resilience and healthy ways to cope with life’s ups and downs.

Why Parents Bring Their Children to Therapy

You know your child better than anyone. You notice when something feels different—when smiles fade, tempers flare, or your once-outgoing child pulls away. Families come to Seasons for many reasons, including:

  • Big outbursts, anger, or meltdowns that feel overwhelming
  • Sadness, anxiety, or growing withdrawal
  • School struggles, difficulty focusing, or avoiding friends
  • Behavioral challenges that leave parents feeling unsure or worried
  • Trouble coping with changes such as divorce, a move, or loss
  • Fears, phobias, or reluctance to try new things
  • Difficulty managing “big feelings” in healthy ways

It’s not about what’s “wrong” with your child—it’s about helping them find tools to navigate a world that can sometimes feel overwhelming. Early support can make an incredible difference.

Our Approach to Child Therapy

At Seasons, therapy with children should feel safe, supportive—and even fun. Kids often express themselves best through play, art, and movement, not just words. That’s why our therapists are child therapy–informed and use developmentally appropriate approaches such as:

  • Play therapy techniques
  • Sand tray therapy
  • Art- and movement-based interventions
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) adapted for children
  • Mindfulness and emotional regulation strategies

Our child-friendly rooms are designed with toys, games, art supplies, and sand trays so children feel comfortable and supported from the moment they walk in.

Including the Family in the Process

Because every child and family is unique, your child’s therapist will work with you to decide the right balance between individual sessions and family involvement.

Supporting a child’s emotional growth works best when caregivers are engaged, so we invite parents into the process—sometimes through joint sessions, other times through scheduled check-ins. These conversations allow us to review progress, share strategies, and answer questions.

We keep communication structured, consistent, and focused on supporting your child’s therapeutic progress.

What We Treat—And What We Don’t

We help children with:

  • Anxiety and depression
  • Trauma and grief
  • Emotional regulation difficulties
  • Adjustment to major life changes

However, we do not:

  • Provide Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
  • Conduct autism-specific diagnostic evaluations
  • Act as custody evaluators or participate in custody disputes

When a child is referred to us, the child is our identified client, and our role is always to prioritize their emotional well-being.

Why Play and Expressive Therapies Matter

For children, play is a natural language. Through play and creative expression, they can safely explore feelings, fears, and experiences they might not yet have words for.

Our therapists use play, art, and sand tray to help children:

  • Process emotions like fear, sadness, anger, and grief
  • Strengthen emotional regulation and problem-solving skills
  • Build resilience, confidence, and self-awareness
  • Experience therapy as something positive and empowering
