Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
in Florida

A Season for Healing Starts Here

Do you feel overwhelmed by anxiety, sadness, or stress more days than not? Are you navigating a major life change, grieving a loss, or struggling to understand recurring patterns in your life? At Seasons Psychotherapy Associates, we believe that meaningful change is possible—and individual therapy is often the first step toward that transformation.

Whether you’re seeking support for a specific issue or exploring personal growth more broadly, our therapists are here to help you gain clarity, build emotional resilience, and move forward with purpose.

At Seasons Psychotherapy Associates, our therapists use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients build psychological flexibility and live more fully in alignment with their values. By combining mindfulness practices with strategies for accepting difficult emotions, ACT supports individuals in reducing avoidance, managing stress, and making empowered choices.

What Is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy?

ACT (pronounced like the word ‘act’) is built on two key ideas: accept what is outside your control and commit to actions that improve your life. Rather than trying to ‘get rid of’ painful emotions, ACT teaches you to relate to them differently.

What an ACT Therapy Process Might Look Like

In ACT-based therapy, your therapist will help you gently explore the patterns that are keeping you stuck — like fighting against feelings, avoiding difficult experiences, or getting tangled in harsh self-judgments.

When ACT Might Be Helpful

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy has been shown to be effective for many struggles, including:
• Anxiety and worry
• Depression and low motivation
• Grief and loss
• Chronic pain or illness adjustment
• Trauma recovery
• Life transitions and identity challenges
• Relationship struggles

Our Approach to ACT at Seasons Psychotherapy Associates

At Seasons, we view ACT as one of many tools that can support meaningful healing and growth. We believe you are more than your struggles.

You Don’t Have to Wait Until Life Is ‘Perfect’ to Start Living Fully. Let’s take the first step together.
